My purpose.
Design is connection. It is crafting something with purpose: to inform, engage, support, or inspire.
As a multi-disciplinary creative I wear many hats — from strategist to designer, producer to writer — but no matter what role I play in a particular project, my own purpose is always to help people and brands reach their highest potential.
My background.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English, French and Journalism and began my career in communications and marketing in the non-profit space. Unconventional? Yes. But experience has proven, time and again, that the winding road is a fruitful one.
Because of my diverse background, I contribute a unique perspective when working with cross-functional teams, collaborating with subject matter experts, and strategizing on how visuals can best support a core story or communication goal. I am able to engage in all phases of a project, from ideation and strategy to directing, producing, and designing a final deliverable. I am flexible and adaptable to many roles within a team, drawing on a diverse skillset to meet the needs of the project at any level.
Across the many creative disciplines I practice, I enjoy the constant challenge of creating connection, expressing a feeling, and building engagement around some of our world’s most pressing issues.
My experience.
Strategist + Creative Producer
People People
I collaborate with a talented team of senior creatives at Seattle’s best brand and interactive studio, helping companies discover and tell their stories. I manage all phases of a project lifecycle—from proposal to launch—contributing brand strategy, research and discovery, project planning, scheduling, creative direction, client management, messaging frameworks, copywriting, and design. I work with clients of all sizes across a wide range of industries in the Northwest and beyond.
From 2016 to 2021, I worked within Vulcan’s in-house creative studio, crafting campaigns, brand identities, and visual solutions that connected audiences to the work and impact of Paul Allen’s many companies and philanthropic initiatives. My work reached an audience of over 8 million across social and digital spaces, including web, email, social, print, and video.
Senior Visual Designer
Vulcan A Paul G. Allen Company
From 2008 to 2012 I managed communications strategy and marketing for a variety of northwest-based non-profits, including The Center for Wooden Boats, the Northwest Film Forum, and The Rebuilding Center. Developing compelling communications campaigns is what led me to an interest in visual design, and I am perennially grateful for having walked a mile in my client’s shoes. Even the best design is bad design if it fails to meet the needs of the people using it. Those are lessons best learned outside the classroom.

Miscellaneous
I live on a farm on beautiful Whidbey Island where I’m learning to be more patient, reading too late, sweeping sand out of my house daily, and doing my best as mom to two dogs and one human.
